Delivering 100 Locomotives

THE STORY

When the world’s largest locomotive manufacturer secured a massive order for Indonesia, Logistics Plus managed the importation, customs clearance, and delivery of more than 100 locomotives, each measuring 20.8 x 3.2 x 4.3 meters and weighing 132 metric tons each.

THE HIGHLIGHTS

• Circa 2013. When GE Transportation Systems (GETS) received an order to deliver in Indonesia 100 locomotives each measuring 20.8 x 3.2 x 4.3 meter, weighing in at 132 metric ton a piece, they knew they could rely on Logistics Plus.
• The Logistics Plus Project Experts managed inventory, pick up, sea freight, customs, door delivery to Yogya, final assembly and lowering to rails for each lot.
• Our team integrated seamlessly with both GE and Indonesia railway to ensure there was not a single problem during any of the several shipments and deliveries.
• GETS was acquired by and merged with Wabtec Corp. in 2019. Logistics Plus continues to support the transportation and logistics of locomotive units for them today.
