Refinery Relocation Export Success

A Logistics Plus® Supply Chain Success Story!

Refinery Relocation: Breakbulk Logistics from the U.S. to Indonesia

THE STORY

When a global energy infrastructure company needed to relocate 68 pieces of refinery equipment—totaling more than 4,400 cubic meters—from an active U.S. site to a project site in Surabaya, Indonesia, it turned to Logistics Plus. With the site still operating, coordination, safety, and timing were critical. The LP Kansas City project cargo team led a comprehensive solution that included surveys, inland transport, container procurement, breakbulk vessel chartering, and export compliance. The project was delivered on schedule, with full regulatory alignment and client satisfaction.

THE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Breakbulk Export Planning: LP conducted detailed cargo surveys, managed containerization, and prepared all equipment for export while the site remained operational.
  • Charter Vessel Coordination: The team successfully coordinated a breakbulk vessel charter from Tampa to Surabaya, ensuring the most efficient and cost-effective route.
  • Export Documentation & Compliance: All export documents, customs clearances, and insurance requirements were handled smoothly by the LP team.
  • Global Project Oversight: The LP Kansas City team worked closely with port authorities, truckers, and destination agents to ensure seamless execution across touchpoints.
