A devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck southeast Turkey and northern Syria early on Monday, February 6th. The earthquake toppled over 10,000 buildings, killed over 40,000 people, and caused over 50,000 injuries (as of 2/20/23). It was the strongest earthquake to hit the region in more than 100 years. Now, on February 20th, a new 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck Antakya near the border of Syria.

The government has announced a state of emergency in 10 provinces affected by the disaster. Subfreezing temperatures have created urgency in the efforts to find those still missing. Turkey is home to four Logistics Plus offices in Istanbul, Izmir, Mersin, and Ankara. The company has nearly 20 employees in Turkey, all of which have been marked safe from the disaster.

To assist with relief efforts, Logistics Plus has started a fundraising campaign. Logistics Plus pledges to match all donations received. 100% of all proceeds will go to disaster relief efforts in Turkey. Additionally, Logistics Plus Turkey intends to mobilize accommodation containers (sleepers) to the affected areas with the help of these donations.
