How many unique items (SKUs) will you be needing us to store and ship?
Do all your products have barcode/sku # labels or readable part numbers printed on them?
Does your inventory include any items that require special handling such hazardous/dangerous goods materials, batteries, liquids, temperature sensitive materials, food, or other perishable items with expiration dates?
Do you require serial number or lot/batch tracking?
Do you require items to be assembled, unpacked, sorted, labeled, bagged or otherwise modified in any way prior to shipment? If so, can you describe what we would need to do or provide instructions?
For pallet shipments are there any special outbound requirements such as banding, strapping, corner boards, custom-sized pallets, etc.?
Receiving Understanding
How will your inventory typically arrive at an LP facility (LTL, ocean container, truckload, parcel carrier delivery such as FedEx/UPS/USPS)?
Avg # of LTL/FTL trucks or ocean containers received per month?
Avg # of loose cartons received per month via parcel carriers such as UPS or FedEx?
If product arrives via ocean container will the products be palletized, or loose carton floor loaded?
Do you require logistics support for the initial and/or ongoing transport of your inbound inventory (i.e. transport from a manufacturer or port of entry)? If so, please specify.
Will inbound inventory include mixed SKUs (i.e. multiple items per box or pallet) that will require sorting in-order to receive?
Any special labeling, tagging, or quality inspection requirements upon receipt?
Warehouse Inventory/Storage Understanding
Do you have any specific need or requirement for inventory to be stored in a specific warehouse location(s) or geographic region?
How much warehouse space do you anticipate will be used (# of pallets, in square feet, in cubic feet, etc.) for each facility?
Approximate # of pallets stored each month?
Approximate # of individual cartons stored each month on a shelf?
For inventory stored on pallets, can the pallets be stacked on top of each other on the floor? If so, how many high?
Avg pallet height & weight?
Do you require an FDA/USDA certified or Bonded warehouse? Do you have any other certifications or management standard requirements?

Do you ship orders primarily with in the USA, internationally, or both?
Percentage of total customer orders shipped internationally?
What international geos or countries do you ship to?
Do you require inventory to be picked according to any special process such as by lot, expiration, First-in-first-out (FIFO), Last-in-first-out (LIFO), serial number, etc.?
What materials are typically used to pack your orders? Corrugated boxes, envelopes, poly or bubble mailers?
Which carriers are you currently using to ship your small parcel shipments?
Do you plan to use your own carrier accounts, or would you prefer to use ours?
Do you offer or require special delivery features such as third-party account shipping, signature required, insurance, etc.?
Do you need support in managing customer returns? Avg # of returns per month?
Do your product require testing or unique quality inspection upon return?
IT/Order Messaging Integration Understanding
We would like to gain an understanding of your technology needs for three primary areas: orders, shipments, and inventory.
How will LP receive your orders? Phone, email, batch file, Shopping cart (i.e. Shopify), ERP system (i.e. NetSuite), Marketplace (i.e. Amazon, Wayfair), Retailer (i.e. SPS commerce, Lowes, Walmart), Other? Please list any that apply
If you require a batch file or system-to-system solution, do you need LP to supply that integration solution or do you have your own IT resource?
How should LP communicate shipment details to you? Shipping confirmation email, report/file, system-to-system update, other?
How will you provide advanced shipping notice (ASN) to LP for inventory transfers to the LP warehouse? ASN entry into LP WMS, email, report/file, system-to-system?
How do you need inventory details provided to you? Access to LP WMS, email, report/file, system-to-system update?
