CAT Equipment Delivered in Vietnam
A Logistics Plus® Supply Chain Success Story!Smooth Sailing to Shipyard: CAT Equipment Delivered via Sea & Crane in Vietnam
THE STORY
A massive CAT unit (24m x 11m x 9m, 50 metric tons) required careful handling, marine coordination, and precise heavy-lift planning in Vietnam. The task: transport the oversized cargo from sea to shore, and safely lift it onto a trailer at the shipyard — with zero margin for error.
Logistics Plus Vietnam, under the close eye of project specialist Tam Hoang, managed a flawless 2-day operation involving floating cranes, tugboats, a 500-ton crawler crane, and a hydraulic trailer. With methodical coordination and precision timing, LP Vietnam once again delivered on its promise of safe, complex cargo handling.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
- Day 1 – Floating Crane Discharge: The CAT unit was carefully discharged onto the water using tugboats and a floating crane, then navigated to Ocean Marina — a controlled and highly visible lift with marine and safety teams on standby.
- Day 2 – Lift & Land Transport: From the marina, the unit was hoisted from the water by a 500-ton crawler crane and carefully transferred onto a hydraulic trailer for final positioning into the shipyard.
- Oversized Cargo Dimensions: Measuring 24 meters long, 11 meters wide, and 9 meters tall, the equipment weighed 50 metric tons — demanding precise calculations, custom rigging, and route clearance.
- End-to-End Supervision: The project was monitored throughout by Logistics Plus Vietnam, with site coordination led by Tam Hoang, ensuring every move was executed to plan.
