Penn State Behrend Analytics Project for Logistics Plus

Penn State Behrend Analytics Project for Logistics Plus

A Penn State Behrend Supply Chain Analytics class had the opportunity to participate in a real life data-driven project with Logistics Plus this semester. This project served as a hands-on learning experience for students as they were challenged with a relevant business problem, attempting to find a solution. The students began the project by familiarizing themselves with the third-party logistics industry. They were then tasked with framing a business problem before utilizing data to provide value to an actual business (in this case Logistics Plus).

The project was a major success and the students were able to gain insight on the role analytics and data plays in the everyday business world. Dr. Varun Gupta, professor of Supply Chain Analytics added, “I am really grateful to Jeremy and Ryan for their support and patience in working with the students and we look forward to working on similar projects in the future.”

Logistics Plus Supports Women in Logistics Leadership (WiLL)

Logistics Plus Supports Women in Logistics Leadership (WiLL)

WiLL HoustonJulie Shafer, an Erie, PA-based business development manager for Logistics Plus, recently attended the First Annual Women in Logistics Leadership (WiLL) Conference sponsored by the University of Houston and hosted by Fluor Corporation at their corporate office in Sugarland, TX.

The platform was founded by several women at logistics companies who have a passion for what they do. Logistics Plus, as a company that also has a Passion For Excellence™, provided additional support to the event by donating copies of its Logistics Careers Plus More For Dummies® books for its students and to use as door prizes for attendees. Julie has also been recommended to champion a new “Northeast” chapter for WiLL. Congratulations Julie!

Commitment to Erie BannerLogistics Plus was one of four finalists in the top “Commitment to Erie, more than 50 employees” category at the 8th Annual Commitment to Erie Awards held on Thursday, September 19 at the Bayfront Convention Center. We are proud to have been considered for another award in recognition of the commitment that Jim Berlin, and the employees of Logistics Plus, have to the Erie community. Although we didn’t win the top spot, we’d like to congratulate our academic partner, Penn State Behrend, for earning the final award. Also, congratulations to our neighbor, The BrewErie at Union Station, for being a finalist in the “Commitment to Erie, 50 or fewer employees” category.

Shown here is a video that was produced by Erie Time-News, the event host, and played at the event. Also included below is a copy of the nomination submission that earned Logistics Plus a spot among the finalists.

Logistics Plus Partners with WPSE Radio for Prep and Pro Football

Logistics Plus has proudly partnered with WPSE AM 1450/FM 107.1 Radio to help bring a full slate of area high school football games – and Cleveland Browns professional football games – to radio airwaves in Erie, PA. As a presenting sponsor, Logistics Plus will be mentioned prominently throughout each broadcast starting with today’s Browns game at 3:30 pm and again on tonight’s Mercyhurst Prep versus Meadville game  at 6:30 pm (streaming only). The sponsorship was a natural fit for Logistics Plus which has already been a marquee sponsor for Best of Varsity Cup the past three years: the annual event that celebrates and honors the accomplishments of District 10 All-Area high school student-athletes and top performers.

Game schedules are included below, as well as a couple examples of the Logistics Plus “commercials” that will air during the games.
