Logistics Plus Receives RIO Plastic Neutrality Certification for a Second Year
20 tons of plastic collected in 2021 is credited to Logistics Plus and will be used to build homes in Indonesia.
ERIE, PA (March 10, 2022) – Logistics Plus Inc., a leading worldwide provider of transportation, logistics, and supply chain solutions, is proud to announce that it has received the official Restoring Integrity To The Oceans (RIO) Plastic Neutrality Certification for 2021 – a second straight year. In 2020, Logistics Plus reduced its plastics footprint by supporting RIO’s collection of 19 tons of marine plastic and waste. Last year, it supported the collection of another 20 tons of plastic waste.
The RIO Plastic Neutral Program allows companies the opportunity to establish their plastic footprint and reduce it by joining RIO to collect marine plastic and waste. Logistics Plus formally partnered with RIO in February 2020 to support its ongoing ocean cleanup initiatives, including the purchase of 1,200 recycled pallets from RIO made from 13,200 pounds of plastic waste in March 2021.
“Through our partnership with RIO, Logistics Plus continues to lead by example by maintaining its plastic neutrality certification,” said Yuriy Ostapyak, COO for Logistics Plus. “Logistics Plus has had operations in Indonesia for over 20 years, so knowing that the plastic waste collected on our behalf is going to build new homes in that region is extremely gratifying.”

Logistics Plus Named to Inc.’s 2021 Best in Business List
in the Logistics & Transportation Category
2nd annual list recognizes 196 private companies that put purpose before profit.
ERIE, PA (December 7, 2021) – Logistics Plus Inc. (LP), a leading worldwide provider of transportation, logistics, and supply chain solutions, is proud to announce it has been named to the Inc. 2021 Best in Business list. Logistics Plus was one of only four companies honored in the Logistics & Transportation category. Inc.’s Best in Business Awards honor companies that have gone above and beyond to make a positive impact.
The list, which can be found in the Winter issue of Inc. magazine (on newsstands December 14), recognizes small- and medium-size privately held American businesses that have had an outstanding influence on their communities, their industries, the environment, or society as a whole.
Scott Omelianuk, editor-in-chief of Inc., says, “What began for us during the pandemic as an effort to showcase companies that were helping the community has grown into a recognition of social, environmental, and economic impact. The companies on this year’s list are changemakers with heart – and they’re pouring the best of their business into the people and communities around them.”
Rather than relying on quantitative criteria tied to sales or funding, Inc.’s editors reviewed the companies’ achievements over the past year and noted how they made a positive difference in the world. They then selected honorees in more than 49 different industries – from finance to software to engineering to fashion, and more – and in age-based and revenue-based categories. The applicant pool was extremely competitive, with around 2,700 entries and an acceptance rate in the low single digits – a huge success for these honors in the list’s second year.
“I am proud of our people and how they continue to adapt and grow in this challenging environment,” said Jim Berlin, Founder & CEO of Logistics Plus. “Doing the right thing with a passion for excellence has always been a part of our culture. Supplying PPE to organizations around the world during the onset of COVID, becoming one of the first 3PLs to attain plastic neutrality, investing in inner-city development – these are all important ways we can make a positive impact. I believe in Karma, and what comes around goes around. So, it’s an honor to receive an acknowledgment from the Inc. editorial staff that what we are doing is making a difference.”
The world’s most trusted business-media brand, Inc. offers entrepreneurs the knowledge, tools, connections, and community to build great companies. Its award-winning multiplatform content reaches more than 50 million people each month across various channels, including websites, newsletters, social media, podcasts, and print. Its prestigious Inc. 5000 list, produced every year since 1982, analyzes company data to recognize the fastest-growing privately held businesses in the United States. The global recognition that comes with inclusion in the Inc. 5000 allows these founders a chance to engage with their peers in an exclusive community with the credibility to help drive sales and recruit talent. The associated Inc. 5000 Conference is part of a highly acclaimed portfolio of bespoke events produced by Inc. For more information, visit http://www.inc.com.
