Logistics Plus Receives Plastic Neutrality Certification for a Fourth Year

7.9 million pounds of plastic waste collected in the last four years is credited to Logistics Plus.

2024 Ocean Certification DocumentERIE, PA (June 18, 2024) – Logistics Plus, Inc. (LP), a global leader in transportation, logistics, and unique supply chain solutions, is proud to announce that it has received the official Ocean Integrity Plastic Neutrality Certification for 2023 – a fourth straight year. Last year, Logistics Plus reduced its plastic footprint by supporting the collection of over 77 thousand pounds of marine plastic and waste.

The Ocean Integrity Blue Ocean Plastic Neutral Program allows companies with sustainability initiatives to establish their plastic footprint and reduce it by supporting the collection of marine plastic and waste. One ton of plastic in the ocean can cause up to $33,000 worth of damage to the international economy.

“Logistics Plus has truly made a remarkable impact on reducing plastic waste, having removed an astonishing 3,599,024 kilos of plastic over four years,” said Captain Kieran Kelly, Commissioner, Managing Director for Ocean Integrity. “This impressive achievement is a testament to their commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.”

“For the past four years, Logistics Plus has partnered with Ocean Integrity to become plastic neutral through The Blue Ocean Program,” said Yuriy Ostapyak, COO for Logistics Plus. “We are committed to preserving and protecting the oceans and their wildlife while supporting our global sustainability mission. Through this initiative, we have contributed to eliminating thousands of tons of single-use plastics from entering our environment each year.”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Logistics Plus Receives Plastic Neutrality Certification for a Third Year

Seventy-two thousand pounds of plastic waste collected in 2022 is credited to Logistics Plus.

LP-Plastic-Neutral-5-17-23ERIE, PA (May 23, 2023) – Logistics Plus Inc., a leading worldwide provider of transportation, logistics, and supply chain solutions, is proud to announce that it has received the official Ocean Integrity Plastic Neutrality Certification for 2022 – a third straight year. In 2022, Logistics Plus reduced its plastics footprint by supporting the collection of 72,000 pounds of marine plastic and waste.

The Ocean Integrity Blue Ocean Plastic Neutral Program allows companies with sustainability initiatives the opportunity to establish their plastic footprint and reduce it by supporting the collection of marine plastic and waste.

Logistics Plus formally partnered with Ocean Integrity in February 2020 to support its ongoing ocean cleanup initiatives, including purchasing 1,200 recycled pallets made from 13,200 pounds of plastic waste in March 2021. To date, through financing and logistics support, Logistics Plus is being credited with removing over 3.5 million kilos of ocean plastic waste, the equivalent of 175,000,000 plastic water bottles.

“As the first third-party logistics company to become certified under the Blue Ocean Program, Logistics Plus is proud to be a leader in plastic neutrality,” said Yuriy Ostapyak, COO for Logistics Plus. “We are mostly a non-asset-based logistics company, so we don’t own the trucks, planes, or boats that deliver our customers’ shipments, and our scope 1 and 2 carbon footprint is small. For that reason, we have focused on offsetting our plastic use. The amount of ocean plastic waste collected on our behalf is more than one hundred times our actual plastic footprint.”
