Congratulations to our newest Licensed Customs Broker!

Congratulations to our newest Licensed Customs Broker!

Licensed Customs BrokerAll of us here at Logistics Plus would like to congratulate Gretchen Blough, our Import Compliance Specialist, on a very important achievement. This past week, Gretchen earned her Customs Broker License through the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of International Trade. Gretchen put in a lot of hard work and many hours of studying into earning this certification. It will serve her well as we continue to grow Logistics Plus global trade compliance services.

Customs brokers are private individuals, partnerships, associations or corporations licensed, regulated and empowered by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to assist importers and exporters in meeting Federal requirements governing imports and exports. Brokers submit necessary information and appropriate payments to CBP on behalf of their clients and charge them a fee for this service.

Brokers must have expertise in the entry procedures, admissibility requirements, classification, valuation, and the rates of duty and applicable taxes and fees for imported merchandise. There are approximately 11,000 active licensed Customs brokers in the United States.

If you’re reading this article and you are with a business that has import/export shipping needs, please let us help you with this very complex, but important part of global logistics. Logistics Plus can help you with importing and exporting services, compliance management, international traffic regulations, harmonized system training, NAFTA audits, duty drawbacks, and more. We promise that Gretchen, and the rest of our compliance team, will give you that extra “plus” attention you need to be successful in all aspects of global trade compliance!
