2022 National Truck Driver Appreciation Week

NTDAW 22 logoThis week, September 11-17, 2022, is National Truck Driver Appreciation Week (NTDAW). Logistics Plus (which was founded and is owned by a former truck driver) and its sister company, National Truckload (NTL), would like to thank the 3.6 million professional men and women for their hard work in undertaking one of our economy’s most demanding and important jobs. These truck drivers deliver our goods safely, securely, and on time. We ask that you please join us this week to celebrate and honor our truck drivers for all of their hard work and dedication.

Americans in all fifty states have taken extraordinary steps to show their appreciation for the important work that professional truck drivers have done as we navigate our way through the coronavirus pandemic. From children passing out lunches, to “I Heart Truck” signs across America’s highways, the public has taken notice of the essential role truck drivers play in their lives. While it’s impossible to individually recognize each driver, we thank you for your crucial role in keeping our society moving forward during these challenging times.

Ukraine Week Raises More than $10,000 for Ukraine

Ukraine Week Raises More than $10,000 for Ukraine

Logistics Plus and Red Letter Hospitality teamed up to raise more than $10,000 to aid the people in Ukraine. The funds were raised as a result of Ukraine Weeka week-long celebration of Ukrainian food and culture held from August 8th through August 14th at three local restaurants in the Erie area. The money raised will help with medical supplies, rehoming refugees in Erie, and feeding those in need in Ukraine.

Logistics Plus Chief Operations Officer (and Ukrainian native) Yuriy Ostapyak said, “I’m very proud to be a part of this community. I’m very proud that the community has kind of rallied behind Ukraine, and as I mentioned before, this support matters. It’s not just about the money. It matters for people in Ukraine to know that they are supported, that people all the way across the ocean are with them trying to help.”

2022 Sunshine Fund Summer Party

2022 Sunshine Fund Summer Party

Thank you to everyone who attended the 2022 Sunshine Fund Summer Party in Erie, PA, on August 12th! The Sunshine Fund party was held at the Erie Sports Center this year. Employees and their family members enjoyed a night of food, beverages, go-karts, mini golf, batting cages, and more. A Flickr slideshow of photographs taken at this year’s event is included below.

The Sunshine Fund was founded in 1996 by Fred Rizzuto and Bonnie Eccles. It started as a common fund that provided lunches and other courtesies to LP employees. As our company has grown, so has the Sunshine Fund. Today, it is an account held at Widget Financial that LP uses to send gifts to employees during troubling and joyous times (births, deaths, illnesses, etc.). The account also provides funding for company get-togethers such as picnics and other gatherings.
