LP China Participates in International Transportation Expo

Members of the Logistics Plus China team recently attended a three day international transportation conference. From December 6th to 8th, the LP China team participated in the 2019 Zhejiang International Intelligent Transportation Industry Expo, the Future Transportation Conference 2019, and the Yangtze River Delta Region Comprehensive Transportation Development Forum. All three events were hosted at the Hangzhou International Exhibition Center. For the duration of the conference, Logistics Plus was proudly displayed with an international enterprise exhibition area and branded booth.

At the conference, Logistics Plus was recognized as a leading freight forwarder due to its wide-range of capabilities and service offerings. The Logistics Plus China team welcomed and held numerous meetings with companies located across Zhejiang province, and built good relationships for future business opportunities. One major person of note, the Principal of Transportation and Communication, visited the Logistics Plus booth to express his gratitude to the team and to invite Logistics Plus to participate again next year.

Sundreysh Sarup Attends Indo-Pacific Business Forum in Bangkok

Sundreysh Sarup, Managing Director for Logistics Plus India Pvt. Ltd., had the privilege to attend the Indo-Pacific Business Forum in Bangkok, Thailand this past Monday. Sundreysh was invited to be a part of a delegation led by Kenneth Juster, the United States Ambassador to India (see first photo below). This event was co-organized with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Thai Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (AmCham) and the U.S. ASEAN Business Council (USABC) with the support of the U.S. and the Royal Thai Governments. The forum was held in parallel with the 14th East Asia Summit (EAS) during the 35th ASEAN Summit. U.S. Secretary Wilbur Ross was part of the program (see second photo below), and various discussions on aviation development were discussed.

Last night, a group of Logistics Plus employees attended the Manufacturer & Business Association (MBA) 114th Annual Event at the Bayfront Convention Center in Erie, PA. Logistics Plus was once again a proud sponsor for this years event. As a long-time member of the MBA, Logistics Plus also manages the MBA Logistics Program on behalf of MBA members.

2019 Beast on the Bay Recap

beast on the bayOn September 7th, nearly 20 Logistics Plus employees participated and conquered the 2019 Barber Beast on the Bay! As the official medal sponsor for the event, Logistics Plus was proud to help support the Barber National Institute for the work they do in the Erie community. The Barber National Institute helps children and adults with autism, intellectual disabilities, and behavioral health challenges.

The Beast on the Bay is a challenging 10-mile race that features 30 obstacles in the sand, lake, swamp, and trails. Congratulations to everyone who participated and completed this challenging, yet exciting course.

This year, Logistics Plus and National Truckload (NTL) would like to thank the 3.5 million professional truck drivers that are delivering for America. As one of the most demanding and important jobs in America, truck drivers are responsible for delivering our goods safely, securely, and on time, while keeping our highways safe. We ask that you join us this week to celebrate and honor our truck drivers for all of their hard work and dedication.

  • In 2017, the American trucking industry generated just over $700 billion.
  • Approximately 5.8% of all full-time jobs in America are related to trucking.
  • Walmart alone employs more than 8,600 truck drivers.
  • In 2017, trucks moved 10.8 billion tons of freight.
  • Most grocery stores would run out of food in three days if long-haul truck drivers stopped driving.
  • There is currently an estimated shortage of 48,000 truck drivers in the U.S.
  • The average professional long-haul trucker drives more than 100,000 miles per year.
  • Emissions from current on-road diesel trucks have been cut by more than half over the past decade.
