An Importer of Record (IOR) ensures that imported goods comply with all customs and legal requirements of the country of import. This is usually the owner of the goods but may also be a designated individual or customs broker.
Importer of Record (IOR) services are provided by companies like Logistics Plus, specializing in international trade. These companies can help you import goods into a country without having to establish a physical presence there.
There are many benefits to using an IOR service, including the following:
Increased efficiency: IOR services can help you save time and money by streamlining the import process.
Reduced risk: IOR services can help you reduce the risk of errors and delays by complying with all customs and legal requirements.
Increased flexibility: IOR services can help you import goods into any country, even if you don’t have a physical presence there.
If you are considering importing goods into a country, an IOR service can be valuable. Contact Logistics Plus to learn more about the benefits of our IOR services.
Here are some additional details about IOR services:
The IOR is responsible for all aspects of the import process, including:
Filing the necessary paperwork with the customs authorities
Paying import duties and taxes
Retrieving the goods from the port or airport
Delivering the goods to the final destination
The IOR must have a physical presence in the country of import
The IOR must be licensed by the customs authorities
The IOR must be bonded
If you are considering using an IOR service, it is important to research and find a reputable company that can provide you with the level of service you need.

Logistics Plus is Named a Top 50 Leading 3PL by Global Trade Magazine
It’s the third time in the past four years Logistics Plus has been honored.
ERIE, PA (October 18, 2022) – Logistics Plus, Inc. (LP), a leading worldwide provider of transportation, logistics, and supply chain solutions, is proud to announce it has been named one of America’s Top 50 best third-party logistics providers by Global Trade magazine. It is the third time in the past four years Global Trade has recognized Logistics Plus as one of its leading 3PL providers.
The 2022 leading 3PL providers list was announced in the September-October edition of Global Trade magazine. The article states, “Each company recognized on our list has been placed in a specific award category. This is not to suggest that it is the only ability or service that 3PL nails for its customers. For instance, we have Logistics Plus under the 4PL/LLP (Lead Logistics Provider) category this year, but the Erie, Pennsylvania-based company would have fit just as worthy of our E-Commerce or Technology awards.”
“Being recognized as an industry leader by a reputable publication like Global Trade is a tremendous honor,” said Jim Berlin, Founder & CEO of Logistics Plus. “As a twenty-first-century logistics company, staying nimble and providing modern solutions to today’s supply chain challenges is what we do. So, being recognized for that is very gratifying.”

Logistics Plus Customs Brokerage Manager Gretchen Blough makes another appearance on Marketplace, hosted by Kai Ryssdal, to talk about customs and tariffs.
For customs broker Gretchen Blough, business has been a “little crazy.” And Russia’s invasion of Ukraine — and the disruptions it’s caused to the global supply chain — are only part of the problem.
“The port in Shanghai has been closed,” said Blough, who works at Logistics Plus in Erie, Pennsylvania. “There’s been capacity issues domestically. Also, we are dealing with some anti-dumping and countervailing issues with solar panels, so our solar customers are kind of in a holding pattern while they decide how this is going to play out.”
For Blough, change has become the norm. “Everything is just a constant pivot,” she said. “Because there hasn’t been a lot of warning to some of the issues that have happened, and we’ve just had to make do.”
