Logistics Plus Saudi Arabia Completes Boiler Tube Project

Logistics Plus Saudi Arabia Completes Boiler Tube Project

saudi air freight projectThe Logistics Plus Saudi Arabia team recently arranged the transport of 80 tons of boiler tubes from Germany to Jeddah airport on a door-to-door basis. The client is one of the largest independent, family-owned group of companies in the Gulf region with business activities across the world. They are a renowned name in the Middle East for power and industrial projects. In this particular situation, the destination was a government-owned power plant.

This project proved to be urgent as the power plant couldn’t properly operate without the boiler tubes. The initial plan was to charter a flight, but due to Covid-19, it became difficult to secure the necessary landing permits. The Saudi Arabia team decided it was best to split the cargo between two lots in SV freighter planes. After carefully planning the freighters to Jeddah airport, the Saudi Arabia team also managed the trucking from the airport to the power plant. Much to the client’s satisfaction, the Logistics Plus team successfully delivered the boiler tubes without any additional delays.

Logistics Plus Dammam Managing Director Nizam Mohammad said, “A lot of hard work went into this project. Despite being limited to Covid-19 challenges, our team managed to find a solution for this urgent problem.” He went on to say, “For the LP Saudi Arabia team, this was a major achievement. Our client was extremely delighted.”

Recent Cargo Projects Managed by Logistics Plus Turkey

Recent Cargo Projects Managed by Logistics Plus Turkey

logistics plus turkeyProject cargo requires precise engineering and planning for the safe transportation of over-sized and over-dimensional cargo. This was especially the case over the last month as the Logistics Plus Turkey team completed deliveries of 14 transformers to the Middle East, two locomotives to Finland, and a full charter to Egypt. Bahadir Erdil, Global Projects Director for Logistics Plus, said, “Our project cargo team continues to impress and find unique solutions that meet our client’s needs. We can’t wait to see what challenges come our way in 2021.”

These recent projects didn’t come without obstacles, however. The LP Turkey team completed mandatory assessments to verify the cargo’s weight and dimensions, completed surveys of local roads while mapping out alternate routes, and experienced sudden weather changes while transporting the cargo. “We treat each project differently,” added Bahadir.  “There is never a one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to these massive projects.”

Photos of these projects can be seen below.

Europe project cargoThe Logistics Plus Europe project cargo team is finishing 2020 off on a high note. In the last few months, our team in Europe has managed a variety of projects including the delivery of steel components to a distillery, a full charter shipment of windmill equipment, and much more. These recent projects are detailed below.

1. Steel Components from Germany to Scotland

Logistics Plus successfully delivered two steel components (each 15.70m x 5.40m x 4.05m / 54 mts) from Germany to a distillery in Bora, Scotland. This project faced multiple challenges including the mandatory guidelines for loading and routing by the Department of Transportation, the limited space on the North Sea Ferry service, and the wintery road conditions in the Scottish Highlands. Despite these challenges, the components were delivered on-time and in perfect condition.

Pictures of the steel components can be seen below.

Logistics Plus Assists With Siemens Mobility Project

Logistics Plus Assists With Siemens Mobility Project

The Logistics Plus Europe Project Cargo team is proud to announce that they have been nominated as the project logistics solution provider for the Siemens Mobility Desiro HC project to Israel. Over the past several months, our project engineering team worked hard to find the most efficient loading solution for Siemens railways. As a result, our team met the highest Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) standards without interfering with the design of the railways.

Project Scope

In 2018, Siemens and the state-owned Israel Railways (ISR) signed a €900 million contract for the delivery of 60 Desiro HC regional trainsets over the next ten years. This contract is of major strategic importance since this was the first time in company history that Siemens was selling complete trains to Israel. Also, the Desiro HC train platform was sold for the first time outside of Germany. By partnering with the RoRo carrier Grimaldi Germany GmbH, Logistics Plus was able to provide constant support and visibility throughout this crucial project.
